Has the AVA gotten a block of rooms at the Days Inn at Hurley?I was wondering if we should be reserving them yet?

Re: Rally at Hurley.
Passing on some info regarding the days inn hurley wi. :
A"deluxe room" is $72.80 per/night.(plus taxes)..this means a room with a microwave & fridge.
Other rooms are available at a lesser price, in the 60 some dollar range,(plus tax)
I asked if I could book my room for longer, and stay ...after the rally ends and she said NO ! hotel is all booked up for friday, saturday ,and sunday nights of that rally ending weekend ALREADY
I was surprised to hear that ! people really do plan ahead..........Tony

Re: Rally at Hurley.
For anyone going up through Michigan on their way to the rally, be sure to ride highway M-119 "tunnel of trees". Absolutely worth it!

Question: What happens on the first day? Do most of you show up the day before? (the 19th)

Re: Rally at Hurley.
A good number of people arrive on Sunday. Making it a good time to meet and great. AVA board members get to work to have things set up for Monday morning.
What happens on Monday: Registration, seminars, shopping (AVA merchandise, and Vendors), Ladies seminar and picking up the ride maps for either guided on unguided rides. This year we'll do the group picture on either Monday afternoon or early Tuesday morning. Last the Monday night dinner (extra cost) There will be some changes this year
For the Show and Shine there will be two added classes: Ultra Custom touring and the Motorcycle and Trike trailer class will be split into Motorcycle & Trailer one class and Trike, Sidecar & Trailer another class.

Re: Rally at Hurley.
All right Bruce ! So glad to hear that you have decided to "live in luxury" !
Staying at rally headquarters is the best place to be .... The price this year is quite nice ...compared to the last few years !....makes it a little easier on the ol' wallet.
Did you investigate on line ,the population of the town were going to ? 1500 peeps !
our group will bring a much needed influx of great folks, and $$$ to a small community.
And the price of rooms is kinda a throw back to the 90's ! so glad places like this still are out there !...........can't wait to throw the sheep skin back on,and head north !....................Tony

Re: Rally at Hurley.
This year??? Your mean next year. This is still 2015. Lots of excitement before winter. I usually don't start thinking rally until January or February. Still riding in 2015 and haven't put bikes up yet. 9 months away still.

Re: Rally at Hurley.
.....As stated earlier.....Can't believe hotels are already filled...or soon to be filled , this far ahead ! Never hurts to plan early. The hotel manager told me on the phone the other day that us Voyagers "got to go"after our rally is over cause the hotel is already sold out for that weekend..and most every weekend...yes ,here 7 months & two weeks away !

Planning on Cindy coming, too! She's changing jobs soon so it will depend on if she can get the time off in her new agreement.Lucasind wrote:And Bruce...are you traveling alone ...or are you bringing your S.O. ? (Cindy)
