motorcycle lift

OK,, I got a line on something called a "Extreme Lift 1 ton motorcycle lift" and looked around on google and bing and cant seem to find anything like this listed. Its at an auction that is coming up shortly so just cant go an look at it until then (unless I can get ahold of the auctioneer)

Anyone heard of such a beast that will lift 2000lbs of bike? If so can you steer me to some information?

You don't say if that is a side-lift unit or a lift table.
I can't really help with info on the one you are looking at, but just to give you an idea of new prices out there on others, Mike Smith has several tables rated at 1200lbs and 1500lbs between $1300 and $1500. Walmart.com also sells a 1500lb-rated table for $1100. It looks exactly like my orange/black Titan table (1000lb-rated, $950 with outriggers). I imagine it just has a larger diameter air cylinder to increase it's lift capacity, but it doesn't come with the outriggers.
Good luck on getting the one ton unit, and as always, if/when you do, we want pics, please!

Sounds like a HUGE, heavy piece, but nice if you need that much lifting power. I have the Titan SDML-1000D-XLT table with the side extensions (outriggers). The extensions give you someplace to set your feet as you slowly run your bike up onto the table. Most tables are only about as wide as your bike, so balancing it as you ride up onto the table is impossible. I also made up extended ramps for the extensions. I also got the mini-jack (frame jack) to be able to lift the bike's rear wheel so I could remove the drop-out plate for tire removal. The Titan I have is rated for 1000lbs. I got it on a special for $950 with free shipping to a local truck warehouse.
Even these tables are not lightweight! About 750lbs shipping weight. They're great for working on a zero-turn, or any, riding mower, too.

Well with any luck everyone that shows up will think its to much to move and I can get it cheap. The auction is almost close enough for me to break out my 8ft trailer and pull it home with my mower if I had to!

There is also a bike trailer there.. hmm better take the truck AND trailer.. might be making a large load coming home!

Mrs. isn't going to be a happy camper if I do though.. oh well.. guess I can sleep on the lift if I get it!

You sound like me, using your mower to pull/push your trailer around! I move my boat out of the way with mine! But, not so sure I would try pulling a trailer around town.

My mower gets a LOT better servicing now that I have a table lift!

As far as "riding" a bike up on the lift....I have never done ...or tried to do that in over 35 years of doing this ! ..."air lift" thing ! I don't think I have been doing it wrong all these decades....but then I DO realize that I am a "trainable " chimp ! ....Tony

Thank you, Eagle! I have a hard time balancing the bike while walking it up those short little ramps without it tending to fall away from me! I'm not as big as you, Tony! Easier for me to slowly ride up those ramps, tiny steps at a time! Hence, the extension ramps, too!

I know most the cops in town, and county, so I could get away with it.. but it would still be a 45 min round trip with the mower at least.
The truck would be so much easier even though the trailer "kinda" rides high in the front with my trucks bigger tires and the trailers little tires... need to find my drop hitch!

A heavy lift like that will be a lot more stable when lifted then the cheaper less weight ones.
I have a handy lift with the extensions for trikes/4 Wheeler's picked it up for $900 about 4 years ago I think its a 2000lbs lift.
The guy I got it from told me he paid $2500.00 for it new.

I gotta admit Loren.... The forklift is the right tool for the job when replacing the tires,and a BIG time saver. A touring bike with a trailer hitch added, can make getting the rear wheel out of there a PITA !

Tony, doesn't your table have the removable plate under the rear wheel? I use a little mini-frame-jack to lift the bike just enough to slide the plate out, then the rear wheel drops right out.

We don't need no stinkin' fork lift!

Yes ...my lift has the removable plate... and I use that if I am only dropping ONE wheel....but as I stated..."when replacing the tires"....I can drop both front and rear tires at once...go for mounting and balancing...come back and reassemble much quicker.

Other times there may already be another bike up on the lift all apart......instead of relocating that bike ,and all the parts........you get it.........
