RADIO DISPLAY

Post by ohiojack »

Any ideas how to get my radio readout(time and station) numbers to show up. I left it out in the rain one day without the cover on, it the display shows up weird numbers/signs?? When it sits in direct sunlight for several hours, the radio sometimes looks better. The radio works fine otherwise. :tho:

Best guy to talk to is Pete, he's the person that knows everything about how these radios work. If you look at the first sticky post at the top of this form sub category "how to set up the volume..." Just click on his user name and send him a PM

To my knowledge once the display gets bad like you say yours is doing a replacement is nessisary. the sun is its worst enemy second to getting water in it.

Yup.. it MAY dry out.. but I doubt it.. Once the display gets to this point, it time to replace it..
Give me a call on 540 391 0884 till 8pm Eastern.

Pete: I'm sorry I didn't respond back, thanks for your removal video. I'm planning later on this fall/winter getting my radio sent to you for repair. Everything else works fine except for the display. I'll give you a call at a later date. ohiojack

The radio display on my now ten year old Hyundai Sonata (great car btw) has also washed out due the sun exposure. Best thing I can recommend is to do what I do on my Voyager. Keep the radio cover on the radio when it is exposed to the weather. Don't assume the electronic components are water proof. They certainly are not UV proof.
