Re: Cherohala
can't help with what you are looking for but can say, I used to go to Tellico every year with me brother from Florida to a Toyota Landcruiser club off road "rock crawling" rally. Havn't been there in years. the name brought back some very fond memories. The area is awsome and always thought it would be great to take a bike trip through that area. Enjoy and stay safe.

Re: Cherohala
We have ridden the Cherohola twice and I do not remember any lodging at Tellico but I do seem to remember a pretty nice restaurant there. It's really a nice relaxing ride and I am sure that you will enjoy yourselves.

Re: Cherohala
What type of lodging are you looking for. Hotel, Motel, Cabin. ? There are about 25 within a 15 mile radius of Telliquah Falls. It is a fantastic area, I travel thru that area every year. check this one out, it is in the heart of Tellico plains.
lodgeattellico.com Very biker friendly I always remember seeing bikes there.
Fontana Villiage NC. off of 28 I think is also a big resort but there are a lot of family's with kids and boats. That whole area is packed with unrestricted lakes for use with swimming , boating , fishing all owned by the Tennessee Valley electric. I have not stayed at any of the lodgings across the border into Tennessee as I love the twisty roads in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains. Dams and waterfalls are very abundant . Anything more on the style of a hotel and you would have to head east over to Bryson City NC off of 74 heading north east or back over to Tennessee.
That whole area of the Smokey's is great for being biker friendly. You won't find a bad road, well unless it dead ends to a dirt road....

Re: Cherohala
I have stayed at Two Wheel Inn a couple of years ago and it is okay but nowhere near Tellico Plains. There is a motorcycle lodge campground just outside of Tellico, http://www.huntslodge.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; if you want to stay in the immediate area. There are plenty of good motorcycle resort/campgrounds in the area..Lance McCaw wrote:Riding the cherohala highway in June. Anyone have any good scenic spots. Coming from Chattanooga. Two Wheel Inn and Kickstand Lodge are just outside of Robbinsville

Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge, Stecoah which is just east of Robbinsville

Deals Gap Resort at the Tail of the Dragon

I have been going up in the area every year or so and have stayed at the Two Wheel Inn and also at the Iron Horse. They are both nice but he Iron Horse is the nicer of the two. As for scenic spots, be sure to check out Bald River Falls, just off the Cherohala.
