Got a tech tip for Voyager 12's from your personal experiences, or one complete with pictures and instructions, here's where to post it. You can also ask about tips or procedures here.
In messing with the Voyager today, I noticed that when I put my 3.5 adapter cassette in and plug in the iPod it seems to be switching sides or something. Basically I will get like 3 seconds of play, and then it will go off for 3 seconds, then the sound will come back for 3 seconds and so on... It worked fine a month ago, and has been stored in the garage since then with the exception of one night outside, but it was covered... Any thoughts? Hopefully Paul will chime in!

Mine will also do that at times. Most of the time I just eject it a few times and it will start working correctly after that. You could try spraying the adapter with a head cleaner too.

I did exactly that! I ejected a few times and it eventually started working correctly. I will probably run one of those head cleaner tapes in it and spray the adapter with head cleaner as well. It might just be gummed up a bit from use! Thanks!
The Reason for the switch back and forth is typically because the tape has tightened up inside the cassette.. You can help it by either winding it with a pencil from one end to the other, or if you grab the cassette in both hands, and very gently flex it , that sometimes slackens the grip of the cassette case on the tape..
However, its also a sign that that larger of the two belts is stretched and cant pull the tape correctly and can lead to the tape getting chewed up..
Time to take the radio out for upgrades

[quote="jek7galo"]I changed the belt once, They are new and the cassette player running very well.
The problem corresponds to speed, a sensor, I do not know.
Ok , if the belts are on correctly (The larger belts has to be threaded correctly, the picture is more or less correct even though its broken,) Then the moment sensors are the tiny little glass reed switches which you can see in the long slots..
Also make sure the switch is actually moving fully.. Its under the small PCB...
I have seen the lever out of the white square before now

Check the screws holding the cassette to the chassis too.. If they are too long (Original were short and silver) then they will foul the mechanism and do the same thing..

jek7galo wrote:Even going on the problem listening am / fm, you believe that there may be trouble in the mechanism?
You have a complete radio with the upgrade (mp3 bluetooth) to sell?
Ok, it sounds like there is a problem with the Logic boards.. The Tape button throws a relay that disconnects power to the motor mech..
I would much rather work on your system as you know its condition.. I dont have any pre-modified to sell and working on yours will be cheaper than buying a non modified refurb
