Rally plaque preview

Post by ekap1200 »

Hello all, Rally time is getting near. Here is a ; right off the water-jet : pic of what this years Auction item will be. It will be supplied with a shipping crate for those bidding on it without a trailer or support vehicle to transport it.
Those traveling up the eastern shore of WI can see the Light house in person. It is in in ( 2650 N Wahl Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53211 ) This years is a big one measuring 31" x 32".
I have been working with metal staining supplies along with the
( acid etching ) to add some color to these metal artworks as the second Pic shows, of a duplicate of last years artwork shows. Along with some 3D effects added to the profile's .

And for our newer member that are not familiar with some of my other works in metal fabrication. Here is a tinypic link to all my albums
http://tinypic.com/3ia1q4ub

See ya'll soon in Hurley

As a fairly new member of this club, I'd like to say I am impressed with the guys and gals who take the time to go the extra mile like these plaques and running the rally and forum and just everything in general. I sure wish I could be there in Hurly to meet each and everyone of you to shake you hands and verbally thank you. Please keep up the good work. I assure you, it is noticed and appreciated around the Voyager community.

OK, Kirk, here's my plan. When all is better next year, I will drive to Machesney Park through Davenport Iowa and pick you up. We can then drive up to Hurley! Oh,...yeah,...it will most likely not be at Hurley next year! Oh, well!
I'm going to next year's rally even if my docs say no! Just too many great folks to meet in person and too much fun we're missing out on! Besides, I want one of Gene's plaques!

Bruce,
I believe the location of the 2017 rally has already been selected... the secret location will not be revealed until the final night of the Hurley rally at the awards banquet ! :thk: we don't really have that much longer to wait, to find out where it will be !

Aw, come on! I need to start planning for next year! East coast? West coast? How many miles from the Kansas City area? Should we brush up on our Spanish, or Canadian French? Should I get my taste buds ready for Jambolya, or lobster? Maybe brush up on my blackjack?

Gene

Another great job, I'd heard about the painted plaque from a guy in California. See everyone in a few weeks.

Back on track. Wow, 23 days of delay on this. I will be a busy man to get this finished. But the madness is done and no more wrenching . It's nice to come home and not have any stress-full evenings. Three more colored stains and several coats of lacquer. Some chemical plating , more lacquer and its off to Hurley.
