Shocks all around

Post by Draxxis »

So I've been looking on here and everyone says they are changing to progressive shocks. I have a chance to get a set of 412 progressive for $75 for the pair. Is this a good idea?? I've never changed shocks on a bike before also and wonder how difficult it will be to do. Also, what are your suggestions for shocks for both front and rear?

Installing Progressive shocks is the best improvement you can make on your bike IMO. Easy to do to.
Just unbolt the rears and replace.

Be sure those used shocks are in GREAT condition. If not, buy a new set

Make sure you get the right ones...412-4221C for Heavy Duty and 412-4213C for regular. The "C" designates that they are the chrome model. I think most of us run the heavy duty ones because of the weight of the bike and riding two up. Big improvement over the old air shocks!! :-D

I bought mine just a few weeks ago from Bikertrends.com for $215.00 but I see they up'd their prices, lol. They must have figured out they were losing money compared to what everyone else was selling them for. :-(

I think i recall reading somewhere that Progressive will check and rebuild their rear shocks (dont recall where i seen this now though). Has anyone ever had this done or know if they do this?

I picked up a pair of 416's myself and would mind having them rebuilt if they do just to be safe.
