Knew I was going to need rear shock install help...

Post by timmerz_1 »

If somebody with wrenching skillz could take a look at this pic...with my limited experience I don't see how the shock will go forward far enough in the top slot to be able to remove it...what am I missing?

Do I need to remove that part of the frame that the trunk is sitting on?

You have to loosen it so you can slide it back far enough to slide the shock past it

Got 'er done...wish I was more tech-savvy, wouldn't have taken 2 full days if I had any intuitive mechanical skillz at all...I always MAKE more work for myself along the way, have to work twice as hard to achieve the goal I set out for myself...but, I got the wiring cleaned up considerably around the back end, and am totally positive that everything is back together tight...

Test-ride tomorrow, looking forward to it!

Next question I've got, how do you get the seats off?

There are 2 10mm bolts at the back of each section, take them out and slide the seat section back.

Awesome, thanks! Left the air tubing on for now, 'cause I couldn't tell how to strip the top frame...now I know!
Thanks a mil!

Leave the air tubing. I tied them together with tie wraps. If you do the shocks one at a time there is no need to prop the lower suspension up. No special tools are necessary. Enjoy the improved ride.
