When it brakes, don't worry about the belt. Make sure you check when you change tires, what to look for: any thing that doesn't look like new.

I have 80k on my belt and still looks like new on the inside or drive side of the belt.

This is what I'm pulling on the way to the AVA Rally in Hurley. Weight of the loaded trailer is 500 lbs plus. This picture was almost two weeks ago. I just went passed 4k miles on this trip today.

So when I bought my 2011 brand new one mile on it the dealer told me it was a Kevlar belt and for the life of the bike it would never need to be changed.
Thanks,

my 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000,had 75,000 miles on it in 2015,belt was fine,no problems,a stray rock getting lodged in the belt is about the only thing that will destroy them.by the way ,belts are very expensive!!found out when I was going to change as a precautionary measure.$500.ooplus for the one for my Vulcan 2000.
