Its a small world

Post by ekap1200 »

Seems when you own a motorcycle the world becomes a small place. Friends pop up out of nowhere. I just got a call from Don Medina, staying in a motel not 20 miles from here. What a reprieve from the honey do now list. Well got to go get the bike and fuel up for a nice Sunday with Don and Trish. Didn't want to do much work around the house anyways. More news from NJ tomorrow night.

Tony, seems it is Don, that keeps up like the energizer battery, there is over 119,000 on his bike already .Trish is not here , my bad, after his phone conversation from down on a race track I did not hear him very well. But I found he was staying just 12.2 miles away thru the back roads. So when he got back to the motel I drove down to meet up and have dinner.. Can't let a fellow biker eat alone, hundreds of miles away from home. Going to meet up at 7:15am for a trip to the Millville motor sports race track. It's going to be a hot muggy day. But that should NOT slow those crotch rockets down a bit on the track. Funny thing about this all is that I lived in Millville from 1963 to 1992,one would think I would have been to this race track only 34 miles away. Well I am finally going there tomorrow. Then later meet up with Marie and go out for dinner. His bike sounds smooth since he had the E-prom flashed with some new parameters and does not run as hot. Slight tweeking of the fuel and timing all done from a laptop. Seems we are the last of the carb guys.....
Our faces will be in the history books with bikes that used carburetors. Well that's the news from New Jersey....
Off to the race's

Well that sounds like a great way to spend the day Gene and Don !  and I hope you guys post a few pictures to share with the group !
Our ride started today by going over to pick up Rich, He has a liking for bikes (and trikes) that have GM V8 power ! what a collection he has to choose from.
Very impressive rides....a lot of power :!! SMOKES the rear tires effortlessly ,to say the least Q

Here is a look at some of his rides

Image

That ol' 57' Chevy rear end on the boss hoss looks SWEET !

Image

He likes his bikes to be LOUD ! and let me tell ya ......he succeeded ! He lives in a regular residential neighborhood, and he fired EVERY one of these engines up this morning ,and I can't imagine the neighbors liked that too well on a Sunday morning ! :devl The blue trike is so loud ,I don't know who would be able to stand riding that one !

Image

There in the back ground you see Rich's yellow HD that he road last time we went out for a group ride,The HD had to sit this ride out today as Rich chose the 57' Chevy Boss Hoss fo today's ride . I am pretty close to getting Rich to join the AVA and attend next summer's rally !.............................................Tony :-D

Now,...Tony,...don't go getting any ideas about going three wheels on us! Unless it's a sidecar rig, of course!
Hmmm, I wonder if I could slip one of those V8's into my Voyager,......?

Tony;
Went to a bike show couple of years ago, there was one trike with a large block chevy engine in it, the valve covers were engraved "General Motors - Trike division"

I hear they can't do anything above and idle or they overheat quickly! Of course, with the right gearing that means a 9 second quarter mile at 150mph!

And THAT, folks, is the difference between metrics and SAE dimensioning! I would much rather have 572c.i. than 572 cc!!!
