The volume control rocker switch doesn't operate smoothly and feels like there's something inside that's obstructing the switch's movement, making volume adjustments a bit of work. Can the switch housing be disassembled allowing for service of the switches?
Thanks,
Craig

Re: Volume switch for Clarion radio
Try spraying some contact cleaner in the switch, it's very possible that a lot of grime has built up inside and this will usually help a lot without disassembling it.
Disassembling is possible but there are a lot of very small parts inside and a good chance of loosing them as you take apart.

Re: Volume switch for Clarion radio
Thanks for the replies! Just to be clear, I can get volume out of the radio, but the switch feels like it's working against me. It's like there's a chunk of something in there that hinders the movement of the switch. I'll try the contact cleaner and see if that helps. Are the contacts open to the atmosphere, or is there a rubber boot of some kind that covers the actual contacts, sealing out the rain?
