Worked my last day of work today :woohoo: officially retired as of today.

Have worked in the same place for just 2 months shy of 48 years :bat: .
Looking forward to sleeping in and having more time for riding.

Wonderful! 48 years at the same job? Fantastic!! I did 38 years before I was forced into it due to failing kidneys. I wanted to complete 40. Just think of all those places you can go visit now that you have the time!

Can I give Ya some advice???!!! Don't take anyone's advice!
Your life, do it YOUR way!!!!! Nobody else's!!!!

Start by doing "nothing", not something "meaningful", sounds good, or somebody said....

Life is a vacuum, it WILL fill itself, get out of the way and be prepared to be
truly amazed!!!!!

Best to Ya!!!!!!!! Enjoy!!!!

Enjoy yourself, I have been retired 20 years and still wonder how I ever found time to go to work. You won't have to worry about what to do , you will wonder where all the time goes.

Congratulations!
I've been retired for 2 years. There are 3 things about retirement:
1. Life begins at retirement.
2. You don't HAVE to impress anybody anymore.
3. A working man looks forward to the end of the day. A retired man looks forward to the beginning of the day.

Cheers.

I've got 14 years to go... Not waiting until then to start living, though! A co-worker's parents retired, said, "Now we can do all of the things we planned to do..." Then they both got sick, and died, within a few years. Got another friend who just retired: he told me it is nothing like he planned, as he has become very ill, and he doesn't know if he will live much longer. Live life like each day is your last, whether retired, or not! My wife and I are taking trips, enjoying every day as much as we can, planning our summer vacations, months in advance (bike trips, of course!), and making things happen, now, not after we retire. Make each day count, as you likely won't know when your time is up.

By the way, Congratulations! I hope you live a long time to come, and enjoy every day as much as you can. Cheers!

Eat right and exercise - use it or loose it!

Your health will go in the crapper @60 if you're overweight and not in good shape.

Take care of yourself!!! So you can live your life and do the things you want to do,
and are able to do 'um!!!!! Be in the kind of shape that when Ya want to do something,
Ya CAN!!!

Very common for folks to retire, sit down and die... I worked for IBM, average life expactatsy
after retirement was 2 years.... I retired almost 20 years ago!!!

As my sig line points out.. I have cranked a bike (motorless...GBG) 100K miles in 1/3 of
century! Find an exercise you like to do and DO IT!!!!! If Ya don't like it, Ya won't do
it!!!!

It's like dieting, it is a life changing choice you make in life to eat the right foods, it
is NOT resisting the past!!! If you resist the past, you WILL fail!!! It's all about your
life choices... yours to make, Bless Ya!!!!!

Congratulation!

I've still got 16 years till I can retire officially but my hope is that within 10 I can retire and just work part time. My wife is 11 years younger than me and want us to move to the interior of BC Canada where it's warmer and riding season is much longer so I'm fine with that. She will continue to work and with my savings on top of that we will be good.
