New bike not running up to par

Post by billy88 »

I just bought a 2017 1700 Voyager. It has no power and vibrates very badly at highway speeds. Dealer did a diagnostic test and said there is no codes showing and they did not know what is wrong. We rode it about 90 miles yesterday and had to turn around and go home it ran so bad (no power and vibration) almost feels like its running on one cylinder....Very disappointed with this bike....PLEASE HELP ME...

If you bought it from that dealer it sounds to me like it's his problem. The bike should have a warranty and he should have to fix it. Just my two cents........Gator Mike

Easy enough to know if it's running on one cylinder, use an infrared thermometer and check the temperature at each cylinder head, or just quickly touch each head with your hand. A dead cylinder will be cold.
Sounds like your dealer isn't going to be much help, best find another one.

Just curious if you test rode the bike before purchase. The most ludicrous assertion I have always had a problem with is that MOST dealers wont allow a test ride on the bike they want to buy before you plop down the money and buy it. I have bought 5 bikes in my lifetime from dealers and the answer was always the same except for one. We don't want to risk you might crash it. Nice but after you own it they don't give a damn if you crash it. Just so long as they get the sale. I don't even go into showrooms anymore because their hypocrisy. If you did get it from a dealer, and they cant find the problem, demand your money back. If they wont deal you can always file a suit against them. A good lawyer would love take the case.

BTW the exception was a nice dealer in Killeen, Texas who insisted I test ride it. Nice to find an honest and sincere used bike dealership. Refreshing.

Billy;
Is this a new never before been sold bike? If so, I'd contact Kawasaki and ask them what to do! Hard to believe that a dealer won't attend to a problem like this, even if it was a used bike!

To post a picture , when making a reply/topic, down towards the bottom there are some tabs one will say attachment. Click on it and then there is a button that will say add file, click on it. That will open up a window to you computer then you can up load pictures or files. There is a 3meg file size limit. Also a jpg for picture format is smaller and no one will know the difference

I guess that the reason you don't see the tab is because you don't have the permissions to do so through the use of the attachment function. So now to post a picture you will have to go through a 3rd party to do so and then past a link into the post. The upload of attachments has been given to paid members to simplify the process. The only thing they have to do is make sure that the file size is not to large. They don't have the constraints of pixel width and pixel height. Which is 900 pixel wide and 640 in height. This was set up (like a over a year ago) and long before photo bucket stopped there service of 3rd party hosting service. Not sure of others that have stopped this service but I have seen others. So now when you see posts that don't have a image is because of the image not being hosted on the AVA website. Another thing that I'm aware of if images hosted on Face Book, I'm not sure but if the link that is used on the AVA website that refers to the image on face book, after a time of not being used it will become inactive and no image will be displayed also. Another reason that this was set up was because most 3rd party hosting limit the amount of space for the images, and when members would delete images on the 3rd party some of the images that they removed were tied to our site and then you would not see that image any more. Also because we don't have a infinite amount of space, it was just granted to paid members.

restrictions there, but have not tried.... Thanks again!!!!!
