Buying a 2001 voyager
Hello all,
I work at a powersports dealership and we recently got in a 2001 voyager mint condition with 24k on it. The bike is beatiful and my boss is giving it to me for a great deal.
My only concern is how hard are parts to come by down the road?

Parts for the XII are NOT hard to come by at all , some OEM parts are no longer available from the dealer ....but you will be able to find whatever you may need on ebay ,as they made this bike from 86-03 ......plenty of spare parts
....go for it , you won't regret buying this very reliable machine !

Re: Buying a 2001 voyager
If it's like my 1993, it's bullet proof and low maintenance. IMO: For the quality and reliability, they're the best bang for the buck. Mine now has 22k on it. I recently met a fellow Voyager rider, with a 1993 that has 178000 miles on it.

Re: Buying a 2001 voyager
The best thing you can do to improve your ride-
Put Progressive Suspension springs in the forks & get rear shocks. Get rid of the air shocks. Your ride will improve 100%
And get good tires. Dunlop E 3 bias tire is the most common.
Enjoy

My 2001 was the same way. I don't know what they are selling it for but snatch it up.

Yeah I put a down payment on it until I can get to the bank next week. I am picking it up for 1700.00 (giving it to me for cost so they don't have to store it for the winter)

Re: Buying a 2001 voyager
I do not think you have much to worry about for parts. They are quite a reliable bike.
I bought my '99 eight years ago with 22,000 miles on it for $5000 and am so happy with it,I would do it all over again.I have put over 50,000 on it since and have done very little to it outside my "winter service".

Re: Buying a 2001 voyager
Took it for a drive had an issue with 2nd gear but after some reading found out about it being cranky until warmed up. Also the rear shocks need replaced. Seen some progressive shocks for 259.

Yes,about second gear, when the bike is cold,it needs to be at about 2500 rpm to upshift to second
