We ride Mount Scott at least once a year. Neat area to ride. Watch out for buffalo on the road, it's open range in the wildlife refuge.
If you walk off road watch out for rattle snakes and prairie dog holes. The local hamburger joint sells buffalo meat burgers.

My Japanese friend flew in to Okc for some motorcycle riding last week. Sept. 13th thru Sept. 17th. We took state highways to Mt. Scott. Went on a few obscure highways that are grey on the map. We came in on the north side of the Wildlife Refuge stopping in Mears Ok. for a great burger. South out of Mears, we went thru the Refuge over to Mt. Scott to find it was gated. Closed due to road damage. I'm guessing a washout from the heavy rain a few weeks before. Although it was a disappointment the Mountain was closed we still had a great ride and he was able to see a lot of West Central and South Central Okla. The Voyagers were flawless as usual, the BMW in the group was a rocket and Ted on Gene's KLR650 was a butt kicker. Ted said his butt didn't hurt but I think he was lying. Start to stop was 256 miles.
