Some do and some don't. I for one "biker wave" when I meet a fellow motorcyclist on the road. I like the idea of showing acknowledgement to a like minded rider in a civil and friendly gesture. Too little civility in the world today.
I also use the tap on top of my helmet to indicate heads up to riders I meet, to be alert of a road hazard, deer or LEO ahead.

In Louisiana almost all bikers wave to each other, no matter what we are riding. I get a lot of waves from Harley owners. I so wish I could have attended the Rally in Lafayette gathering at the Harley Davison shop this morning. Congressman Clay Higgins and Dog the Bounty Hunter will be riding with the group and music and food will be served free of charge. The doctor said I could go home for a few days as long as I took it easy. Unfortunately attending a 2 hour ride is not relaxing in his mind. So here I am home with no place to go.
Oh trust me I am thankful for a lot of things. I seldom want for things anymore. It is just that this heart thing has come at a terrible time. But then.... what is a good time?
