Sturgis 2018

Post by 823JIM »

Just returned from this years Sturgis trip, my wife went with me for her first trip there. We had a very good time, even though she was not wild about the crowds in some of the areas (doesn't like going to fairs either). We rode much of the Black Hills, which she enjoyed very much, lots of good riding roads and beautiful sites. Only saw one XII Voyager the whole trip, that was at the campgrounds in Spearfish SD. My wife was a real trooper on the bike as we headed out at 4am on July 31 and rode 15hours and 15 min for a total of 909 miles to Mitchell SD the first day. (59mph average with 7 fuel stops).

.... glad ya had a good time!!! Went there in '11 and 13 with a VROC group (the 'other' Kaw group! GBG) and
we had our rally in Deadwood (15 miles away) and it was NOT during the Sturgis rally... we all agree with
yer wife!!! We had a absolute great time!!!! Yes, it is a very nice area!!!!

If she held up for a 15 hour day and came back, ya got a keeper!!!!!

823JIM, you could have added 100 miles and it would have been an Iron Butt Association Saddle Sore 1000.
Thanks for the pic's.
