Aftermarket performance products
Does anyone have any experience with any fuel management systems such as the Cobra or Dynatek systems. I feel like they have these new bikes detuned, but I don't want to do anything that will void my warranty.

Re: Aftermarket performance products
... another web site you should look at is vroc.org techtalk forum.. there are lots of
folks that have 900 experience... and from that experience...
The 900 is one gutsy machine and has great gas mileage!!! ... the 2 biggest suggestions
on them is change the drive pulley to one less tooth to get rid of the road speed
buzzyness it will take some torque away.. it's a tradeoff...
and have your stator rewired with a heavy duty option.... they do
fail..... Very Best to Ya!!!! Ride and enjoy!!!!!

Would the Ivan Flash void my factory warranty?

... IIRC, Ivan's flash is for 1700s... I think you have a great little machine, make
it yours and enjoy!!!
Your new Voyager ought to pull yer head off!!! I'm afraid to open
mine up in first and second!!!! Run some Seafoam thru 'er, about
3-5 tanks, and clean the carbs out.. JM2C

Re: Aftermarket performance products
Bill, I have a new (2018) 1700 Vulcan Voyager that I was asking about. It just seems a little sluggish at part throttle unless you keep the rpm's up. All of the things that I read about on here that the Ivan Flash takes care of, seems to be what I notice about my bike.
The 900 runs great, I have no concerns about it.

Re: Aftermarket performance products
I'll have to agree with Cranky about Ivans reflash. I was one of the first in the AVA to have that done, and have never regretted it!
Will it void your warranty? Of course, but so will any other after market stuff. If you want the performance that these bikes are capable of, go with the reflash, anything else just isn't worth the money!

Re: Aftermarket performance products
I just thought if there was something that just plugged in that I could easily remove if need be I would try that until the warranty was up. I bought the extended warranty so I have 6 years worth.

Re: Aftermarket performance products
It's pricey I know, but I have heard of people having the reflash done, then plugging in a spare stock ECU whenever warranty work needs to be done.
They do this, because Ivan scratches in a serial number on all the ECU cases he does. Dealerships are aware of this, and apparently, some check. I wonder, is it the same with people that have Commanders on their machines?
When I had my reflash done by Ivan, it didn't matter to me, because I already had the 1700 triked, and I just could not live with the over heating and under-performance on long trips anymore. It was kinda obvious that it was not stock! Now, many of the Kawasaki dealerships in my area won't even work on the trike because of the trike kit! I tried to get a front tire mounted and the oil changed because I work, and did not have the time, the tools, or the workplace to do it myself, before Kerrville last year. Dealers wouldn't touch it, ended up taking it to the place that installed the trike kit ..........
I will say this, Ivan has made this into a motorcycle again. I always ride 2 up, and on a well loaded trike, (Trike weighs 1200 pounds, on a trip with two riders and all our gear, we are pushing 1600 pounds) and used to tow a trailer, it is a new motorcycle now. I don't know of anyone who has been "Ivanized" that is unhappy with the performance!

Re: Aftermarket performance products
I have done lots of mods to get my Voyager 1700. I installed a K & N air filter first, which was followed by changing to Amsoil 10-40 engine oil. Then while at the AVA International Rally in Estes Park, I was told about the Cobra Tri-Oval slip-on pipes and the FI2000 fuel module. I ordered both and installed them, it made a big difference. Than Hank 43 told me about Ivan. I'd just moved to the east, so I went up to Ivan's and had I the ICU reflashed.
Wow what a difference, the Voyager now runs like I expected it to run of the showroom.
At first I set the Cobra FI2000 back to 0. But after a few thousand miles I started playing with the settings and now have it dialed to where the Voyager runs hard and gives me good MPG. My top end seems to suffer because I don't rev my engine past 3,000 rpm. But I've been working on that.
