Last Saturday I doped myself up really good with pain killers and took to the road on my bike. It is remarkable that it still started right away for being parked for nearly 2 months. I put about 80 miles on it then visited a friend in Sunset LA. It started getting cold about 5pm so I started home. The knee pain was bearable as I reached the house and put her in the garage. It was a great day. Of course I have been paying for it ever since but I would do it again in heartbeat. I guess that is the difference between a die hard motorcyclist and not.

Hey danger4u2, can you post a general review of your hot wire gear. My wife wants me to buy her heated gear for Christmas. I got one positive review from another rider here at home but would appreciate your opinion. Thank you. Nice bike collection by the way.

Please exercise caution and moderation when "self medicating" (even with prescribed meds). I'm sure as a former first responder yourself, I'm sure you've arrived at the scene of an accident far too many times only to find it was a driver who "self medicated" to just get a few more hours on the road, or was trying to get home and didn't want to pull over and sleep, or simply had their judgment and reflexes altered from medications and failed to realize just how much of an altered state they were in!
Impaired driving is never safe, AVA - Arrive Very Alive!
Glad you got your ride in and made it home safe without any injuries!

Scott you should know that I didn't mean doped up literally. I did take more than the one Narco that the Doctor prescribed but I augmented it with a couple of Tramadols which I have been on since beginning dialysis. I am NOT a pain medicine taker but if you had been in the kind of pain I have been experiencing since July you might be tempted to take a lot of pain meds as well. The Narco the doctor prescribed is for 1 tablet every 6 hours. I have been a minimalist when it comes to pain medicines because I hate the accompanying side effects I get when taking them. However the meds I took Saturday only brought the pain down in both knees to a tolerable level. I would never have taken to riding a motorcycle if I were not in total control of my faculties. I spent too many years preaching the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and liquor. Besides my one day of enjoyment was met with a week now of pain so intense I could not drive myself to dialysis. Fortunately I am going to get some relief on the 13th of this month. I am going under the knife for some surgery on the right knee. If successful the left knee gets the treatment next month.

I really injoy using the Hot Wire gear. But last time I went out the gloves were not working, light on the gloves would light but go out.
I will look into what is wrong soon. Still under warranty. I'll get back to you.
