Hand held CB radio mounting

Post by Steverides5 »

Looking to add a inexpensive cb radio to my 1700. The problem I seem to be having is that most handlebar mounts are for one inch bars and my bikes bars are 1 1/4”. Been riding with a local club and many riders use a cheap hand held CB to help on group rides. Enclosed pictures are from a fellow riders Goldwing, but this is what I’m trying to duplicate. Thanks to all

Hi Steve. do you think we could bore it out to 1.25 . Stop on by and I can see if we can't mod or manufacture something that will work out for ya.

Hey Gene, thanks for the offer. A week or so after posting I did find a mount online that should work well. Have not yet ordered it yet as I’ve had some other financial commitments to take care of but am planning on it in the next month. Will post a picture or two once complete.Looks like an inexpensive way to go.

I bought a RAM RAM-HOL-BC1U universal belt clip cradle to mount my Midland hand held CB. You can get a handlebar mount for 1-1/4" bars. Made for a nice set up. Mounted a NGP whip antenna on the back of the bike using an OEM mounting bracket for the XII and used the connection on the CB to plug into my SENA communications system. Has push to talk capabilities. Works out well and I have the CB to use as hand held if needed. Saves trying to find an OEM CB and mounting the hardware. This was cheaper, more flexible and new.

Thanks for the advice. I think I got it figured out less the cash to buy the stuff. Will be soon.

I dont know if they make a Ram Mount in you bar size but I modified my I Phone belt clip to work with mine. If I can I can take a picture of it and send it to you. It works great for holding my cell phone in place.
