Re: FIRST RIDE OF THE YEAR
Well glad I got some rides in because winter is back now have to wait for the snow to melt and a couple of good rains to wash the salt off the roads again,

Re: FIRST RIDE OF THE YEAR
Since I have returned to riding, I have put 300 miles total on my bike. We've had some pretty nice days here and when the days become predictably warm I intend to even take the bike to dialysis 3 times a week. I thought I would need to ride some new territory but just being out on it has been therapy enough just driving the back roads.

Re: FIRST RIDE OF THE YEAR
The back roads were made for the Cushman
Or,maybe, it was not made for the main roads.
Even though it will top out at 63,it is MUCH happier at 45-50

Re: FIRST RIDE OF THE YEAR
Friday was nice and I had off. Got to take a quick spin of 100 miles. Back roads and now without salt it was a nice green pollen dust on the roads and the woods of NJ are going green.

Re: FIRST RIDE OF THE YEAR
Finally got the 96 dialed in so now have two nice bikes running perfectly. Will take the 96 out today for a long ride and burn out the winter sea foam gas mixture. I had a bad slow speed wobble on it so needed to take it apart and preload the steering stem bearings. All fixed now and rides perfectly.

Re: FIRST RIDE OF THE YEAR
Got out today, Easter Sunday and rode for 2 hours till my butt hurt. I chose some old back roads down in Vermillion Parish for my trek. It felt good, it was 60 degrees clear skies and no breeze. Motorcycling for me is therapy. I fear the day that may be coming soon when I will have to hang up my helmet for good but I am not thinking today of that. When I ride I often listen to a good radio station and leave active thinking about things behind. I am sure most of you would agree. If not therapy, then cycling is more about freedom and independence than something one has to work at. Most of us agree that if you take the fun out of something it becomes work. I intend to make it a point to climb on and do nothing more this summer than to have some fun.
