Carb Identication/Serial Number

Post by Jeff Gordon »

Good evening, just looking at 2 different sets of carbs I have, 1 from a Canadian bike, the other from a US be ke. The numbers stamped on the side of the carbs are different. Do the numbers have a code within them that mean something. Will the jetting be different due to emission differences? Just trying to discover if these mean something and Google wasn’t helping me.

Hello Jeff from Nova Scotia;
The carburetors I have in my collection are both the V371 and V372 models. There are no discernible differences in the jets, needles, slides, or throttle plates in any of mine.
I suspect the second series of numbers are tracking numbers in the event of warranty claims, but that is supposition on my part.
There may be some other internal differences I am unaware of so perhaps others can add to this,
Dave
