Man it was hot today.

Post by tnpete »

Got out for a ride, and man I was soaking wet. 87 degrees here in West Tn today. Had my Joe Rocket jacket on, it lets air pass through. Though I will be cooler with it today. Was I wrong only a Cotton T shirt under it. Still soaking wet after 50 miles of riding. This bike sure puts off a lot of heat. Not showing to be running hot. Just engine heat and if its like this. Guess I will not be riding it much.
After 7 Stents and a Heart Attack. I stay hot even in winter temps. Now when it's 70 or below I'm ok on it. But man no way would I be able to handle it when it gets hot. Now 30 degree weather it would be ok.

Also first bike with full faring like this. And the high winds sure make it move. But we had some 35 MPH gust today also. I will be the first to say, being I only have around 200 miles on the bike myself. I Know I'm still getting used to it. Love the ride, nice and smooth today. Running 65 or so, did great on our rough roads.

Cruise is not working, but thinking its the foot brake switch. As I found out its not kicking the brake light on. Front does make the light work. But rear brake is not making the brake light activate. Turn signal is not kicking off, but figure its tied into the cruise also.

Radio does not hold settings. Both glass fuses are good, but it did come with an extra radio. So betting that's the reason it came with the extra one.

Blame fuel is leaking out of the overflows when the bike is moved. So guessing one float is set just a hair off. But by the end of the ride. It was not leaking, so may have cleared its self up.

Took a pic today in front of where Buford Pusser from the walking tall movies was killed. Or his Corvette crashed and he died. About 1.5 miles from home.

Got back hooked the trailer up. Fist time to hook it up. Going to paint it this week, not sure I will pull it. But may try never can tell.

You say you get engine heat coming back to you?You may be missing the seals between the fairing and the engine which keep the hot air coming through the radiator from getting back to you.I feel almost no heat from the engine on my "99 even in 95 degree weather. :hmm:
With the seals in place the air from the radiator goes out the side vents in the fairing.

Will look into both. I did not see anything missing when I had the fairings off. But will look at the manual again to make sure.

I have seen some with the wings that pulls air to you. May be a the answer.

Pete, just look at the outside cyl/wall, there should be a rubber seal that is just moulded to connects to the plastic , and rests against the cyl wall.
