Tires

Post by Vooshman »

Replacing original tires on my 2018 Voyager. Does anyone have any recommendations on a touring tire? Thanks!

I'm a Dunlop man and have run American elites and get close to 20k per rear tire. I pull a trailer about 2/3 of the time.

Michelin has a new Cammandor III Crusier tire looks good.

Bronson, how do you like that E-4, I mounted one on the front of Trisha's trike and I wore smooth no cuping. Was also easier to steer.

On the I use a 180, seems like very few tires come in the 170 size.

Thank-you for the replies. I'm going with the Michelin commander II. Heard good things about them. I'm due for an oil change soon so I'm waiting to get both the tires and the oil done at the same time. I'll let you all know how the tires do once I get them on!

I see you've already made your decision, but what the hell I'll throw in a vote for the E4s as well, although the front is no longer available. I've put a couple of thousand miles on my E4s, and flat out love them. No weirdness on grates or grooves. Handle REALLY well in wet and dry - nary a squeal or a slip even dragging the pegs. Gertrude was such a pig, er, well, Elephant, before, I just can't describe how much better she is now.

But, since the Elite 4 is out of production, that's a moot point. Just wanted to show my appreciation for the many guys on here who recommended the E4s. Now when my rear tire gets as bald as my head in a year or so, I don't know what I'll do. *Maybe* I'll luck out and find another E4? Then the following year when it's time to replace both... *shrug*. I'll worry about that then. Maybe Dunlop with have an E5 out by then...
