2016 Voyager ABS Questions

Hi ! I am about to purchase a '16 Voyager. I have a few questions, if I could pick your brains?
- Do all of the '16s have ABS on them, but KACT is optional? The manual for this one indicates it has ABS, but there is no KACT decal on the front fender. I do want a bike with ABS! Confused on this!
- Next, is there a way to lower seat an inch or so? I have an VTX 1800 which feels a bit lower then the Voyager. I am 5' 11" and was tippy toeing at a stop, compared to the VTX that I can flat foot it. Will adjusting air pressure in rear shock help?
- As long as it has ABS I will be getting it. Any recommendations on improvements or are there any issues with this year?
Other then these concerns, I like everything about the Voyager! Looking forward to my better half being more comfortable on our road trips!

Hi Jazzwheels, If the 16 is anything like the 18 ( which I think they are, kawasaki hasn't changed much on the voyagers in the last few odd yrs) Adjusting your air pressure in the rear shocks and selecting a lower number on the shock dampeners should lower the height some. When i'm riding solo, I have the air set at 30 and the dampners set at 2. When having rider, I set air at 40 and dampners on 4. I notice a difference on heights between the settings. I'm 5'11" and 193 lbs so sometimes I have to play around with the numbers some. Hope this helps!

Thank you Vooshman for the info. I saw the valve for the shock air pressure, but will have to look for the dampner setting. That is good to know, as I wish to have it set up for the most comfortable setting for my wife. Happy wife, happy life! I am getting the bike, but have to wait until our Secretary of State (DMV) is open again. I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning, and getting a note from Santa that he will be back in three weeks!

After looking at Partszilla parts catalog up to 2014 there were two models of Voyager 1700. One model was an non ABS model, the other model they list is an ABS model. As of 2015 the partsl catalog only list the Voyager 1700 ABS model.

I went out to the Garage and took two pictures of my Voyager 1700 front wheel showing the ABS ring on the wheel and another picture of the instrument panel, showing the ABS light on the lower left side of the picture, yep the bottom row of lights. My Voyager 1700 is an ABS model, This is a simple way to check for ABS. Yes I think that the ABS model is the only way to go.

Hi jazzwheels, The ABS is pretty sweet. I use the front brake , rarely the rear, but from what I understand both the front and back engage when using either, makes stopping or slowing down a lot smoother. The only drawback is when it's time to replace the rotors. I'm betting it's not cheap but like with all toys, it cost to have fun! lol. Safe riding man!
