Color change up

Post by SteelTherapy »

Hi,

I have an '85 Voyager, black and burgundy paint scheme. There is currently rust on the tank and on the chrome bits (engine crash bars and side bag bars). My thought was to media blast the tank and bars and repaint in a "black out" fashion (matte black, drop the burgundy). Actually, I want to do that to all the body and luggage panels and maybe even the wheels. I would keep the Kawasaki tank logo and the Voyage on the side panels. Yes, it's my bike and the decision is ultimately mine but I wanted some opinions on it. How would it look? Any examples of anyone doing this before? Am I committing blasphemy for messing with a "classic?"

So Van,

Are those smiley faces because you like the matte black idea, or that you are laughing at the idea, or you're laughing at the idea of the Voyager being a classic. The internet offers so many ways for messages to be confused.

I have seen a couple of solid black 1300 and they are not impressive.
You really need some sort of accent or the black is just overwhelming
