Buying a Voyager 1700.

Post by micpowell »

I plan on buying a Voyager 1700 in about 4 months ( have to wait on house closing). I had a 2008 Nomad 1600 about 5 years ago and currently have a 2005 Yamaha Road Star 1700. Wanting a 2015 or newer. Are there any years that are best as I know things change. Are the Voyagers coming stock with LED lighting? Thanks.

Question #1 Not many changes. Biggest was with the KAMS system which evaluates hot air from the rear cylinder area. Which really does work.

Question #2 This is a yes and no. The headlight, fog lights and turn lights are not. The tail lights are.

So pick a color you like and enjoy. Also it took my Voyager 25,000 miles to break in

Kawasaki has not updated the stereo system as well. When you look inside at the hook up wires in the left pocket on the fairing, you'll notice the 30 pin adapter for I phone 6 or earlier. I use an mp3 player which does fine. the only issue is that your controls on the handle bars will not coincide with the mp3 player. If you have or can find an older model I phone then you'll be solid, if not, as stated, an mp3 player is a good alternative, just have to by an adapter wire.
