Michelin Commander 3 cruiser

Post by buzzcut »

Hi all

Just put on a set of these. While there are many thoughts out there, rest assured I don' think you will be disappointed. Wow. I won't say what was on the bike when I bought it last fall because it turns out they were 15 and 18 years old by the date stamp but soooo much tread was on them. Hence anything would be a rock. I can push this bike over like I am riding my old Connie with these tires. FYI

I've got one of those coming from my front - and just mounted a nexen darkside on the rear. I'll post on that handling combo soon. Like you, my tires were both +12 yrs, and even though I am pretty cheap - I like my skin WHERE IT ALREADY IS thank you - so new tires it is.

glad to hear good things re: the Michelin commander -- just noticed though that mine's a commander ii... nutz didn't even see the iii.... Oh well. it'll be here in a couple days. I'll check the date - if it's old i'll return it and get a iii

So quick update on tires. bike developed a tank slapper severe at 50 kmh. Michelin has had issues with the 130 width in other tires for this but would not warranty this tire. so shinko 777 is now on the bike and so superior to the michelin even when there was no tank slap. Just sayin....

Yikes! Glad it didn't end in tragedy. I just cracked 6,000 miles on my shinko's, they're holding up quite well, couldn't be happier with them.
