Changing throttle cable 83 1300
When i turn the handgrip i see one thing turning. But the handle doesnt snap back. I heard there are 2 cables. One push one pull.finding one aftermarket is near impossible.bike bandit says unavailable.kz enterprises says the same. I dont want to order from china and get the wrong one. Also do i remove the gas tank to do it? And several wires and console have to be unplugged? I dont get much in the form of answers so please. Respond. I appreciate it.

You are correct. the tank must come off. I hope it is not full as it weighs a ton.

One cable, the rear one, closest to the tailight works. The other one in front of it does nothi ng.turning the handgrip makes it move slighly.it sreems slack.and it disappears down deep.how in the world do you get down there to put it in place?

Get the throttle wide open. Use a screwdriver to wedge it so it stays that way. Using long pliers and skinny fingers you should be able to reach in from the side and hook the cable end in the slot.it should be accessible just under the idle adjust screw. work backwards from there until you get the rest of the cable in the proper slots and snug them up.
I did this in the mid 90s putting in an auto cruise control when my fingers worked a whole lot better, and it was still a couple hours of swearing to get it all attached.
