Cranky in an accident

Post by Chris Cochran »

Another member in the VROC forum mentioned that Cranky (Bill Snodgrass) had an accident while on the way to the rally, just a few miles away from the rally site actually, almost there.

Apparently, the front tire somehow blew, don't know the details, and the bike is totaled. He was in the hospital but will definitely survive.

So, if anyone there is wondering where he is, that's the story as much as I know it from a posting on the VROC forum. Since he was going to the Voyager rally, I thought it should be mentioned also in the AVA group, too.

It was disheartening to hear about the incident. Wishing him the best, and may he have a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the news. Well, sharing the news; not the news itself. Hope to see him post here before long.

I am so sorry to hear this. I would have liked to meet him. That’s 2 accidents of members going to the rally this year . That’s the most I’ve ever heard of. Hopefully everyone gets home safe.
I’m almost home and will be home tomorrow.
Please be safe .

I've never met him in person. Hope to some day. When I mentioned on the VROC forum about getting an 86 Voyager he was the first to reply. So I've chatted with him several times.

Bronson Barth
He’s ok but his bike was totaled.
He was in our group riding Route 66 to the rally. We just left Cadillac ranch when what we thought was a drunk guy swerved into our lane . He missed Ken Knight who avoided crashing by going into the grass but took out Bronson. We found out he may not have been drunk and maybe had a diabetic attack but he sure was acting like it. It was bad but could have been a lot worse.

I checked the VROC forum again and there IS an update: On the 26th he got 12 titanium strips put in his ribs someway to help with his breathing.

On 28th is up and walking, still on oxygen.

Thought he "might" discharge today but moved into a regular room with no discharge date as yet.

Another update: He'll be discharged from the Hospital in Flagstaff today, Sunday the 3rd. His Wife and Son will leave with him Monday Morning. The plan is to be home in San Jose Tuesday evening. It will be a long healing process, but he's doing well.

Glad to hear he's doing well and discharging. Wish we had known at the rally that he was in the hospital there. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

I need some help! In the last couple days I've been getting an odd sense that Cranky's ghost has been lurking on this site! I'm hearing rattling chains!
