Re: Throttle cable splitter/junction box question.
I couldn't help but notice this tidbit on page 2-5 of the manual:
"Do not disassemble the junction box of the accelerator cable assembly. Disassembling the box may upset the cable joints and cause the cable malfunction."

Re: Throttle cable splitter/junction box question.
Have you found a cable set yet ?
I may have a few used ones here in NJ.

Re: Throttle cable splitter/junction box question.
Thanks for exploring this.
Was it difficult to identify the faulty cable without seeing it? I assume this is one of the throttle cables, and it either wouldn't open or wouldn't close right.
And can you speculate what problem the two-spring design solved? Was it to tolerate some conflict between the actuator and the throttle (such as in the hands of a rider who forgot the cruise was on)? Or maybe to tolerate some cable stretching? Or maybe a safety thing to allow closing the throttle no matter what?

Thank You Very Much,Deep Thoughts, for your pictures and explanations of the cable splitter.
I never took mine apart, but just replaced all my cables during "winter service' a couple years ago.

Re: Throttle cable splitter/junction box question.
What I don't see in these photos is how the carburetor accelerator cable attaches to the junction box schtuff. I assume it attaches to the middle cam. Does it attach next to the pin affair -- hidden under the pin in most photos?
