1. What is the easiest way to remove and replace the speedometer cable, particularly at the upper end (under the speedometer housing)? Must I first remove any fairing parts to remove the upper speedometer cable housing?
2. How hard is it to remove the radio unit for possible repairs?
Thanks!

Remove headlight shroud (two screws underneath)
Remove headlight screws (four screws, I think)
Move headlight down and left, Reach over headlight to the right and unscrew the connector from the dash unit. Remove cable. Reverse process to install new.
As far as stereo removal. I have never done it. But I have had my bike completely apart, and I would suggest, removing all of the upper fairing. Not a bad job, just time consuming to not scratch paint.

I concur with Flip. I broke my cable about 2 weeks ago. Easy-breezy to get at the speedo cable with the headlight moved out of the way.
Funny thing about a speedo cable broken... the self-canceling turn signal stops working! So does the volume gain on the radio! Man am I spoiled! I actually have to turn off the turn signal manually! The horrors....

There is a procedure for removing the radio in the AVA Tech Center, Voyager XII section. It is time consuming and you have to remove several parts to get it out.PRAYINGD wrote:

I plan on it, but mine will be my bicycle and not my motorcycle.PRAYINGD wrote: "Make 2 statements-- arrive at your polling station on 2 wheels." (Seen years ago prior to an election)
