What is it
Checking fuel filter today and see this small catch bottle.
It has engine oil in it? There is a plugged drain line.

Re: What is it
A catch tank is provided beneath the surge tank and catches the water or oil from the bottom of the surge tank. Usually, water or oil do not collect at the bottom of the surge tank. In the event that rainwater is drawn in through the air cleaner, or if engine oil is blown back, drain the tank.
the surge tank is the black box right above the expansion coolant tank, that is connected to the carbs, with the black rubber boots.
If there is anything in it feel free to drain it

Re: What is it
Thank you highwayrider. There was oil in about a third full. Now it is empty will keep an eye on it to see how accumulates.

Re: What is it
Next time you change it, you might also pay attention to whether you're getting radiator fluid in your oil.
