So, as part of my , maintenance I'm digging into the clutch, which slips a little under hard acceleration. The 6 coil springs are at the low limit, so will be replaced.
However, the "spider spring" is broken, and the 1 piece for my 93 is "unavailable " @ partzilla. That being said, the 2 piece for later tears IS available. Can anyone confirm that the 2 piece will work on the 93?
Also- the manual says replace the clutch hub nut, also unavailable. Does anyone have a source for this nut? Or can i just re-use the old one?
Thanks!
Clutch parts interchange?

Re: Clutch parts interchange?
I think I got Gertrude's from Kawasaki Parts House or Dennis Kirk or someplace, not sure. You don't want to reuse the old one, it will back out. As for the spider springs, I *THINK* the actual part numbers are the same, they just doubled up on the springs. The person to check with would be Carl Leo voyagerparts@bellsouth.net to make sure. That's where I got my spider springs, I remember that much. Maybe I got the clutch nut from him too? Also, make damn sure to use locktight on the clutch pressure plate screws and caps. They didn't spec that until later models IIRC but it's a good idea anyway. Also something learned from experience - if it says use locktite, use locktite LOL

Re: Clutch parts interchange?
So i emailed carl, he told me the newer springs will work, but the hub nut IS different, and said if not damaged re-use the nut
I will likely exercise caution and apply some blue loctite to the hub nut, as well as the 6 spring bolts.

Re: Clutch parts interchange?
Sounds good. Come to think of it, I think I reused my clutch bolt too. Ah, yes, I remember it came undone until I locktited it. Same for the spring bolts. That's where I learned "if it says use locktite, then definitely use locktite".
Of COURSE I have trouble following directions. I WAS a Nuke, y'know.
