Re: 1996 Voyager 1200
Search on "no spark on cylinders 2 and 3". Sounds like a bad coil.

Re: 1996 Voyager 1200
I'm new to the Kawasaki voyagers is it one coil that runs those two cylinders or on that year is it four separate coil ?

Re: 1996 Voyager 1200
One coil per two cylinders, just like Honda, and other bike makers did, on their four-cylinder engines. Wasted sparks jumped on the exhaust cycle, without harm or ill effect on the engines. Far cheaper, less complex, than using four coils, two of which did nothing during their exhaust cycles... Cheers!

Or it could be the coil is not connected /

Re: 1996 Voyager 1200
not common for any wiring to just come undone. How did all this start ? Was it not started for some time or did it just start acting up and not running right ? Were you working on something else Was it running fine the last time you rode it ? Does it sit outside most of the time ? Its not that easy to just get to the positive side of the coil with a test lamp

Re: 1996 Voyager 1200
So I got into where the coil connects to the wire and it was just disconnected , it must have jostled off somehow

Re: 1996 Voyager 1200
Now I have another problem. I was changing my headlight and arc. Some wires somehow, and now my cigarette lighter and my radio has no power and I change the fuse in the fuse box. What else could it be?

Did you check all the fuses in the fuse box about the air cleaner?

There are also two fuses behind the headlight.

And there is a relay for the headlight behind the headlight that you might have fried.

Re: 1996 Voyager 1200
Athough rare it's not surprising as they only give you a couple mm free play in the wiring.Kensleysdad8722 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 11:57 pm So I got into where the coil connects to the wire and it was just disconnected , it must have jostled off somehow
