Carb floats?

Post by trikebldr »

This is a bit different, but I would like to get an idea of how many of you might be interested in something like this.
On another forum for the KZ1300's, it has been noted that after all these years the original black "plastic" floats in the carbs tend to absorb fuel and not hold a predictable level setting. One of the members over there makes a brass replacement for those. VERY nice workmanship! Almost jewel-like in appearance. The 1300's have three two-throat carbs, so there are only three floats needed for them and he charges $118 for all three.
The guy I bought my "new" little 1100 from said he set all four carbs' floats using clear u-tubes on each carb, but that they changed a little bit after about a week. So, I plan to do something like new brass floats myself.
I don't want to re-invent this wheel, so I am trying to get an idea of how many might be interested in brass floats for the Voyager XII. The guy that makes them for the 1300's might be interested in making some for the 1200's if he gets a few requests.
