good reason for a celebration ride

Post by krasmu »

We finally have good news from the midwest and a reason to take a breath, relax and get on the bike and ride. For those of you who might remember my reporting of the pescky home invasion we were battleing. I'm proud to report we did kick their behinds in good old Voyager fasion. :devl Through due diligents and hard work, we recieved the all clear last Friday. :woohoo: For our celebration, Peg and I got on the bike and headed East until we hit water. This would be Lake Michigan just north of Chicago. We found a beach and went for a nice relaxing walk then pulled up a log and sat enjoying the warm sun, breeze and sounds of the waves. I told her I was sorry we had to cancel our trip to the beach because of all the stress but that if she closes her eyes and imagines, We can pretend for just a few moments that we are setting a beach on the ocean.
Turned out to be a great, relaxing, 150 mile ride with my best friend and wife of 35 years. Felt wonderful to have her on back again. :LvStrk

I think we found Peg's breaking point. this was the longest ride she has been on since her younger days when we rode around Lake Michigan. She did great but was complaining of saddle soars when we pulled in the drive. I said she just needs to go more often and and get her behind more used to it. She will be having foot surgery in two day and will be in a cast for 6 weeks. might be able to get her out yet before cold sets in.
