Deer Slamming

Post by onlyonmonday »

Considering I slammed into a broadsided deer, I find it important to say how astonished on the extremely low amount of damage...
Yes it's true... There is a small amount of rash on the edge of the deer dam, crap on the radiator, and when it finally fell over the highway peg spun around and popped an airvent in left case...
People that have seen the damage are not believing I even hit a four leg...
I am SO GLAD I ride big bikes and with deer slamming equipment...
What are your thoughts of what I said ? ?

Like I said, my three boys, two of them had damage but are walking much better than me...
Trust me when I say, hitting one with a truck is different than a bike...

I cannot imagine hitting a deer of ANY size on a bike. I hit 3 deer while driving my wife's Ford and the insurance company totaled the car.....

50 or so years ago, while riding a bike, I straight legged an attacking dog (Never do that again!) and it almost totaled ME!

You are indeed lucky....

I hit an 8 point buck that jumped out onto the road broadside a few years ago at 70 MPH. Me and my 1200 didn't fare out so well but I'm alive so I consider myself lucky and feel I was being looked out for from above. Bike was totaled. I rebuilt the bike and I was rebuilt by the doctors.
