What is a good selling price for a 96 Voyager

Post by Tonyvdb »

So bought myself a 2017 Victory Vision so I'm going to be selling my 96 Voyager. I know the price it really what someone will pay but what is an average selling price these days.

My Voyager has 50,000mi, plastic is in decent shape with a couple cracks in the "usual" spots that I have repaired, has a Utopia backrest and I replaced the front shocks with Race Tek progressive springs.
Has all LED lighting including headlight and gauge cluster. Runs great and I run sea foam in the gas every month.

I also had Pete do the LED and Bluetooth upgrade to the radio. Cruze and CB work and all the handlebar controls function.

I was thinking around $3200 USD

KELLY BLUE BOOK FOR YOUR BIKE SAYS("in ecellent condition" ) : $ 2500.' retail.
$ 1680. trade in value

Goldwings hold such a higher re=sale value than our Voyagers do .....not sure why ! The Voyager is a better bike , IMO.... You rarely ever get your money back for extras that you have decided to add to your bike. Good luck with the sale of your XII :-D

This bike was on Craigslist at the end of last years season. It's back on the market again.

To get this high of a price would require someone that really wants one. I've had 3. All were good to me. But sometimes we all need a change.
Best of luck and hope you get your price.

2 years ago I paid $2,000 for my 2002 with 18,000 on the meter. It had NO accessories, but that doesn't matter with a 12 year old model.

... the obvious answer is, of course, whatever Ya can get!!!! GBG

Having said that, you can always lower a price, raising it it a tad difficult...

Advertise with weasel words... reasonable offers considered???? OBO....
Best to Ya! And of course the rate of exchange comes in to it depending
on who to......

Paid $3000 for my 03 with 29,000 miles almost 2 years ago. Needed front springs (installed progressives), all fluids changed. Stock machine but had a trailer hitch with a hitch carrier. Plastic and paint in good shape.

I just bought a 98 for $3400. It is in mint condition and everything works as it should. It has 33,000 miles. I havent owened a Kawasaki since i was 17. Now 50 years young and after 9 Harley Davidsons I decided to try the Kawasaki Tour bike. Could not be happier its quiet, rides smooth more than enough power handles good no complaints. I thought about a GoldWing as they do hold their value better. I have not ridden the GoldWing so i cant compare the Voyager to it. I dont think i would ever buy another Harley.
As someone said earlier its whatever somebody is willing to pay for it. I liked the bike probably overpaid for it but its mine now no regrets. Good luck

I paid $5000 for my '99 in November of 2009 with 22000 miles on the clock  .I have never been sorry I paid that amount,as it very easily does everything I ask it to. :woohoo: Unfortunately,I also have that much in my Cushman, which gets worse milage, with one person,at a slower speed, than the VXII. :hmm:,and I am not sorry about that either. :gig:

Welcome to the group Salvatore jrm ..... other than Italian bikes I've had about all kinds of bikes out there, including HD. I will be riding a Voyager for the rest of my days....as they are just plain old " great bikes" ! You did NOT pay too much for your Voyager at $3400. as you said it is in excellent condition , and you will likely get many ,many years of dependable service from it ! :woohoo: ...........................Tony :-D

You have to realize the bike is over 20 years old and I am sure you got a lot of riding out of the money you paid for it. Let it go for less than $2 grand and give a new owner something he can appreciate for a while.
