&%^#), or, The Adventures of Gertrude

Post by GrandpaDenny »

So, last night Gertrude and I went for a nice long highway ride to visit some friends. On the way back, was on an extremely rough road, and guess what happened? (Pick one)

A - The recently-installed left saddlebag lid fell off
B - The recently-installed left saddlebag lid fell off in traffic
C - The recently-installed left saddlebag lid fell off in traffic and got smashed to smithereens.
D - Nothing, it was a nice pleasant ride with no problems at all.

Hint: :tho:

On another note, the sea foam does seem to be helping. She's idling smoother, and behaving better at speed.

Thanks, Cranky. Hey I tried calling the guy in Florida with the Voyager parts in the classifieds but his number is disconnected. Anyone know his new number?

Installed the new rear tire today. Mechanic was highly complimentary of Gertrude. Then on the way home the shifter linkage broke, fortunately in first gear. So, I limped her back to the shop. Let's hope he finds a suitable part to fix her!

On another note, gave her her third fillup today, no seafoam (out), but I noticed she is running MUCH better.

Shift linkage is a minor repair. Pin holding the linkage to the lever broke. Will be back on the road Tuesday (awaiting the part).
