Trunk Pad Position

Post by Van Voyager »

Not sure why I've never noticed this before today but the trunk pad, or rear passenger pad, on my 86 ZN1300 is not even close to be centred. Difficult to tell from the photo but the pad is off center by 1/4~1/2 inch to the right and it's not level. I pulled the pad off thinking there was some adjustment to it but the pad bolt holes are not drilled in the right position. Is this common? Any know: were the rear pads a dealer installed item? Seems goofy that the factory would install the pad so far of centre.

Could it be upside down?

Just a thought.

That's a good question!. The pad is not symmetrical, top to bottom. I'm not sure which way is supposed to be up.
