Shock bolts 93 voyager
On my 93 there are no acorn or other type nuts over the threads of the shock bolts. They seem to be about 14 mm.plus the length of the rightt shick bolt, the upper ones, is short. It must have been broken off sometime.thats a norher new problem.it looks to be welded into the rear subframe section. I was wondering how to get it out.what do i replace it with, and where do i get it. My manual doesnt help.

Re: Shock bolts 93 voyager
While doing stuff to my '86 I noticed that my left side upper shock bolt is stripped. I had planned on taking a tap-n-die kit to it to make new threads but decided to take today off and relax.
Here's a pic of it now, before the tap-n-die effort. If it doesn't come out well, then I'll be in the same predicament that you are in. To that end, I'd also like to know what people have done in the past to get around this problem of the welded-in bolt.

There is a master mc mechanic and fabricator here in town. He fabricated and welded it in place in less than 2 hours. He said he was going to cut it off smooth . Then drill out the middle, then put a threaded section in the hole. As you know it has a smooth section, then threaded sectiin, then the tip is a smaller diameter threaded section . He did all that
