Hello everyone, so I'm finally going back the other way with the Voyager and putting it back together. The problem is that I had to take time away from it and can't remember where the hoses go for the radiator reservoir or the smaller overflow tank I didn't take any pictures and the service manual didn't seem to have a good picture of them either.
I was hoping someone could look at there bike or give me information on where they route. Thanks a million times for your help ,this forum is a very valuable source of information for me.
Pretty sure there's just an overflow tank, which some folks call a reservoir. Thus, the hose that runs from near the radiator cap to that tank (under the left side cover). It's the only small-diameter coolant line on the bike, save the drain from the overflow tank to past the swing arm.
Note that it's easy to pinch this line with other parts, especially if you also fuss with the fuel pump. My bike came pinched like that. Not good.
Now you see where it comes out. This hose attaches to the bottom of the overflow tank. Finally, this shorter hose attaches to the top of the overflow tank and dumps overboard.
And once again, please tilt your head...... irritating.
Lastly, the "small" overflow tank routing:
This hose routes over the top of the bigger tank, through the notch seen in the pic, and then attaches to the air box.
The "small tank" is called the surge tank. It collects the crud that accumulates in the bottom of the lower airbox, such as rainwater, oil blow-by, and general ick. The drain hose for it goes pretty much straight down and exits the left side by the side stand. Good idea to drain it occasionally.
I just discovered that I lied to you a bit. The notch in the radiator overflow tank has that notch in it BUT it's for the top hose coming out of the overflow tank that drains out on the ground and NOT for the hose coming from the surge tank to go through.
That hose actually goes underneath the larger, overflow tank.
