Fuel Filter

Hello. I know that there is a thread or two on here as well as on a few FB groups, but I still am not finding a definitive answer.

I have an 2010 VN1700B. Is the fuel filter replaceable/serviceable? In the service manual it states that it is integrated into the fuel pump and the pump should be replace if needed.
I have seen some one somewhere showing a simple replacement of the filter with a $5 items from Amazon. I saw another thread somewhere with someone disassembling the pump and again using a $5 dollar filter.

:hmm:
So what is it?
Is it replace able on my 2010 or not?
Was the pump design modified at some point and now the filter is a serviceable item?
Or did someone figure out to make it serviceable?
