Preparation for Storage

Post by 1st one »

Some us are going to store our 1700's for the winter I would like to use a fogging oil like it says in the owners manual , take out the plugs and spray, but to get the two plugs out you need to empty the fuel tank and remove it. So I have been thinking why not remove the right air cleaner housing not the left. When you have done this you will be looking at the throttle body assy. Start engine let idle and spray in fogging oil, put cover on and your done. Prior to this put in some fuel stabilizer fill up bike and drive home.

I look forward to your Opinions

Doug

Thats all I do
Spray in the fogger untill the enging quits.
And it is not a small amount either. These babies do not like being choked, and if you blip the throttle at all it shoots all the fog out the tailpipe and you start from scratch...with another full can.
Change the oil, stabilizer in the full gas tank, check the tire pressure, take out the battery, wash and wax, baggies over the tailpipes, put on the cover and see you in the spring,my friend.
I think we are supposed to put the tires on wood or something to get them off the bare concrete.
Yes;it is stored in a garage
