Does anyone have a suggestion on how to deal with the turn signal self cancel that works intermittently? I don't know where to start looking. Bike is a 2002 Voyager XII

Hello Ghost. Welcome to the forums. There are no dumb questions. There have been many discussions on this topic in the forum. You might want to use the search function near the top right section of the web page.Ghost wrote:Does anyone have a suggestion on how to deal with the turn signal self cancel that works intermittently? Anyway, intermittently working self cancel probably points to corrosion somewhere in the circuitry. If you have a service manual you might want to start by finding all the connections that go to the turn signal switch and disconnect, clean, grease and put them back together.
Did the bike get a lot of use in the rain? Or washed where spray got in the electronics?
So, if the search doesn't work for you, I'm sure someone who has been through this will point out what they found to be the culprit in their case.

Re: Dumb question of the day
I had a problem with the left turn signal not cancelling all the time. I spoke with Carl and he had me take the 2 phillips head screws out from under your left grip. It works like a clam shell. When you take the turn signal switch apart, clean it with contact cleaner. Work it back and forth. Then use WD-40 and lube the same switch. Work it back and forth, mine now works great. Very easy fix!
