Personally I would not "monkey" with them .

Re: Handle bars
I'm sure it's probably been done. I don't remember the topic coming up on this forum, though. May I ask why you would want to do that?

Re: Handle bars
The problem would come finding longer control cables and harnesses for things like radio and cruise controls.

Re: Handle bars
I think you would be opening a can of worms unless you want to spend a lot of money. The main bar is 1" at the clamp. If you bought 1" bars you'd have to buy all new controls to fit the bars which are 7/8" old standard Japanese. That means you'd have to have new fluid reservoirs, find a place to put the choke lever. If you when with entirely 7/8" bars like say for a GL1000 Honda Goldwing they would work with the controls but you'd have to find a way to modify the clamp area to accomodate the smaller diameter bars. That would be the cheapest way to go but still will require a lot of measurement, research and modification. The voyager isn't a sportbike or a cruiser so lower bars or ape hangers would not improve the comfort in my opinion.

Re: Handle bars
Good idea (I'd like the bars closer for a more relaxed posture while riding. I know, buy a cruiser, like a vv1700!) just complicated and/or difficult to implement!
