The first issue seems to be getting it started. Only seems to want to start if I crank the throttle all the way back and hold it. Thinking fuel delivery problem or bad plugs but not sure.
The second is that once started it idles at about 2k which seems a little high to me.
Lastly the clutch takes quite a bit more effort to pull in than most of the bikes I have ridden. This may just be the nature of the beast but I figured I would ask anyway.
Thanks in advance for any ideas. Can't wait to take some long distance trips on this one

Hard starting as you explained it tends to be valve adjustment .
If you have the idle adjust (mistakenly called choke lever) up ,it will run fast until it warms up .
If not the idle adjust is under the throttle bodies.
Stiff clutch lever is likely the cable .Possibly a good lube will help that.
