Engine serial # location

i just bought a 2012 Voyager and need engine serial # for registration, but for the life of me I cannot find it. is it hidden under something?

Sorry I can't help, but are they not, just asking for a VIN number not the engine ID. Here in New Jersey we just need to use the Vehicle Identification Number for registration. Just wondering why your state is different. Hope others can post in and help out. Gene Kap.

i have a 2009, the engine number is on the left side, above and behind starter
