Post by JosephToulouse »

Hello fellow Riders!
first of all;appreciate all the feed back to My many questions.........

But..........I got some more!!!

1). Can you change out the headlight bulb without taking off the fairing??

2). I have a 94 voyager.......does it also have a air/bleed for the radiator when You change
Antifreeze?

3). Are there any light-full/face helmets that You recommend??(heavy helmets give Me a head-ache).

As always........mucho thanks!!

No problem on changing the headlight bulb. Take the two screws out under the headlamp trim, gently bring trim bottom forward to release the top two tabs of the headlamp trim. (Be careful here as the tab can break off if handled roughly). After trim is removed, you gain access to the four 10mm (i think) bolts that hold the headlamp in. Remove the bolts and the headlamp will come out so you can remove the Headlamp bulb to replace. Reverse the process to reinstall.

Your bike has an air bleed at the water pump, but that is the only one needed.

seeing as we are talking about the headlamp. What is the bulb type for the headlamp and has anyone tried an LED replacement for it yet that works?
Seems that superbrightLEDs.com has many that state that they will work as a headlamp.

I just replaced mine with a Silver Star H4 bulb which is much brighter than the standard bulb that was in the bike. I was trying to get the dash light to come off but the bulb was not the problem. I notice now that in the day time on coming drivers are flashing me so it has to be much brighter. I believe the bike still had the original bulb in it that still works on both high and low beam. They seem to last a very long time.

The original bulb was an H4 12 V 60/55 W (quartz-halogen) and that is what I replaced it with.
